Spring cleaning
Spring cleaning is the elaborate cleaning which is done after the long winter months. People find spring months perfect for major cleaning because weather is warm and pleasant. Irrespective of the months, any major cleaning can be described as the spring cleaning. This is the time to clean winter clutter. This is the time to clean basement, garage or attic. Though spring cleaning is boring and exhausting work but still you can make it easier and more efficient by following some simple tips.
Preparations
Being organized is the most essential requirement for getting a quick spring cleaning job. First of all make a list of all cleaning tools and supplies required. Gather them in one central area or in the rooms where they are needed, like bathroom cleaning tools in bathroom. It will save lots of your time and energy in fetching all these things from the area where you normally keep them.
If you have double storied house, keep double supplies at each floor. This way, you would not have to carry them with you. This is very simple tip but a great time and energy saver. Place separate garbage bags in each room. During spring cleaning, you will find lots of things which need to be thrown away at once.
Make the space clutter free
- Another important task during spring cleaning is to make the rooms and house clutter free. Pick the things lying on floors and place them in the right position. And throw away the things you do not need in trash or junk. Making the house clutter-free does half the job.
Take one room at a time
If you want to be stress-free and relaxed physically as well, take only one room at a time. Clean it from start to finish and then come out of it. View whole house as a project and divide it in many sections. Make a checklist of tasks to be achieved. Start the cleaning within the room, in a clockwise manner. It will help you remember where you started from.
Make a team
Spring cleaning is such a large project that you would feel bored if you do it alone. Make a team with all the family members involved in the task. Assign tasks to each member of the family according to his age and capabilities. Besides getting the work done faster, all members of the family will have a feeling of involvement.
Right process
The basic rule of cleaning is to clean from top to bottom. There is no use cleaning floors first and then dusting the walls. Dust always falls from top to bottom. First clean things high up and then mop the floors or vacuum the carpets.
