Purchasing a Home – Your Credit Worthiness

By wisely managing your credit and understanding how your credit score affects your borrowing ability, you will be able to make the most out of your investment.

Prior to applying for a home loan, you should get a copy of your credit report and verify that you have an adequate credit score to obtain the loan that you want. Credit scores are represented by a number that is given to you by each of the three major credit reporting agencies. It is based on a proprietary formula they have developed that determines your credit worthiness. The better your credit score, the more likely it is that you will qualify for a mortgage loan.

There are three major credit reporting firms from which you can obtain your credit report and score are Experian, Equifax, and Transunion.

Generally, having a higher credit score will result in obtaining a lower interest rate on your loan. Many lending companies will be more willing to work with you if you have a high credit score and they will also be able to lend you a higher amount of money.

In order to maintain a high credit score you must be responsible when it comes to paying your bills in a timely manner. You should avoid having late payments and large amounts of outstanding debt, particularly with credit cards and consumer loans.

By understanding how to maintain your credit and how your credit score will affect the type of loan that you will be approved for, you will be one step closer to being able to purchase the home of your dreams.

Of course your credit score is not the only element that will determine if you will be approved for a home loan. Lending institutions will also take into account your financial stability, your income, and your employment report and status.

Steel Buildings In Earth Quake Areas

Thanks to the engineering departments of the steel building companies there are several types of buildings to withstand extreme weather and high seismic forces. Its common knowledge of the seismic activity that resides in California.

But a lot of people are not aware of the small pocket earth quake areas throughout the entire United States, such as Tennessee. Not even a week ago there was an earthquake that was right on the border of Colorado and New Mexico, with a magnitude of 3.0 or less. So what does this have to do with Prefabricated Steel Buildings?

According to the American Heritage Dictionary, an earthquake is the sudden shift of the earths crust due to the release of stress accumulated along geological faults or by volcanic activity.

As the seismic waves make the ground move underneath a structure, they pass on kinetic energy into that structure. Through it’s design, a steel building must absorb and control this kinetic energy as it dissipates throughout it. For years, metal building engineers have known how to design the prefab steel buildings to withstand these seismic forces.

There are several rules to be followed when designing residential and commercial steel buildings that will be erected in the high seismic areas across the country with respect to the kinds of bracing that can be used for the prefab metal building.

There are only two types of braces that may be put in a steel barn. And remember that it is not required to brace every wall in the structure to resist lateral winds and seismic activity. In a small version of a steel barn only one wall needs to be braced. In a steel structure that say has more bays, two bays at each wall needs to be braced. The first brace is called a Diaphragm Brace or panel shear. This brace is not as expensive and is used in areas where threat of these seismic activities and winds are the lowest. Diaphragm Bracing is something attached to the walls to absorb and withstand these types of activities.

In areas of very high seismic activity, all engineering departments of the steel building companies and factories require that a prefab metal building be braced using cable bracing (also called x-bracing). This type of bracing uses rod or cable structural support diagonals connected to the eave strut and the columns on each side of the designated bay to be braced.
