Shopping For Massage Chair Advice

June 12th, 2009 No comments

The reason it is important to visit a store is so you can sample the differences in massage chairs before you buy. But before physically trying out chairs, it helps to know what the differences are in the many models and brands.

The main differences between individual chairs are the massage functions built into the chair, the material of upholstery, and physical design. Some variations between massage chairs can be less obvious which is why it is important to read descriptions carefully and spent adequate time trying out the chair you’re about to take home.

The most important massage functions include rolling, kneading, tapping, and percussions. Many chairs offer a range of motions to include the most important functions and high end chairs will allow combinations of these functions to be performed at the same time.

Massage techniques also vary in their range of speeds and intensity of these functions. More advanced chairs can perform a wider range of speeds and intensities while the most basic chair might offer just a few functions and a single speed and no distinction in intensity.

The material of upholstery usually is used by manufacturers to distinguish the premium lines from the budget lines. Leather and leathermatch will cost more and tend be packaged with other fancy features of high end chairs while cloth and microfiber will be a staple of budget chairs.

The physical design can be a deal breaker for some people looking for a chair that fits the dcor of their home or office. This can be something as simple as the color selection of the chairs or the contours and shape of the chair. If the aesthetics just aren’t right, some chairs have a pair of wheels so it can be tilted and rolled to a storage place and out of sight.

The number one consideration that buyers should look carefully for is the comfort. Since these chairs can double as lounge chairs for many, it needs to be something that you can sit in for long periods of time. In fact, you wouldn’t want to get up from some of the chairs that are very well designed for comfort.

When it comes down to it, comfort is the key. A massage chair is something that should unwind and relax you. If it is something to look forward to after a long day, then the chair has fulfilled its purpose.
