Cats and dogs are very different in the way they show a human affection. A dog is a lot more loyal than a cat. Many people treat their dog the same as they would treat a child.

Tip 1 ” When you first get your dog, it is a good idea to attach an identification tag to their collar. Many owners do this so if the dog goes missing or runs away the dog can be easily returned.

Tip 2 – You need to find out what the laws with regards to registering your dog and having them vaccinated. Today it is a legal requirement that all animals kept as pets are fitted with a microchip. This is done by your vet and generally the cost of having it inserted between the animal’s shoulder blades is around $50. There are some microchips which just provide an identification number, whilst others are designed to actually read the animals temperature as well. Once inserted the information is then entered into a database and should an animal be lost and found with such a chip they can be returned to you as their owner much more quickly.

Tip 3 ” When walking your dog it is always best to keep them on the lead until you get to the park or open space. Some dogs are also classed as dangerous and may need a muzzle.

Tip 4 – Although you dog may be inside most of the time when they are outside in the garden still make sure that they have adequate shelter, especially if you intend to leave them there whilst out. But although you may keep them outside you should also spend time with them as well and these are pack animals and so they like to be with others.

Tip 5 ” Make sure that you take your dog to vets regularly this is always a good idea so the dog get a regular check up. If you tend not to take your dog to the vets, then if you dog had a serious illness it could cost you a lot more.

Tip 6 – Unless you are intending to breed from your dog it is important that you have the spayed or neutered. Many dogs after having this routine surgery carried out tend to live much longer and tend to be much healthier and have far less behavioural problems.

Tip 7 ” Eating healthy is very important to your dog, so you must get it right. Most people will feed their dog dry dog food this is perfectly fine as it has all the nutritional ingredients needed. Other options include fresh meals – this is great if you have the time. It is always a good idea to speak to your vet about what is best for your dog.

Tip 8 ” Your dog will start to respect you a lot more if you were to take them to dog obedience classes. Dogs really enjoy these classes as they will learn a lot about how to behave in and outside of your home. You will also learn a lot about how to look after your dog and after time a mutual respect will build.

Tip 9 ” You should always allow time for your dog; take them for walks around once or twice a day. Dogs love open space so a trip to the park is ideal.

Tip 10 ” Dogs, like humans need cleaning, so it is a good idea to clean their coat and maybe their teeth. If you are unsure on how to do any of this you can ask your vet or take your dog to a dog grooming centre.

Above we have listed 10 of the most important points that will make sure your dog stays fit and healthy.

Aquarium cleaning is a monthly task that must be done weather or not you want to do it. If you do it right the process can be very easy or difficult. The size of your tank can depend on how long it takes to clean. If you have a very big tank, and the tank is established then you may not want to vacuum out all of the debris it is good for the fishes growth and development. If you have a smaller tank the tank will take longer to be established and you may want to vacuum out all the debris.

When cleaning a tank, changing the filters is the first step. If you have a bio filter, or power filter changing the filters is a breeze. A under gravel filter is another story. You must remove all the plants, decor and accessories. Then you must pull it out from under the gravel to clean.

Once the filters are cleaned, replace them with new ones. If you have an underground filter do not replace it back in the tank yet. If you have an established tank then leave the plants and decor, even if they have algae on them. If you do not have an established tank or smaller tank (ten gallon or smaller) then wash off all the plants and decor. If you have real plants do not wash them.

After the accessories, decor and plants have been washed do not place them back in the tank yet. The next step is to siphon the tank. Siphon no more than one third of the water out of the tank. If there is still debris at the bottom of the tank fill it with water and re siphon until all debris is gone. If you have an established tank then only siphon out some of the debris and leave a little in the gravel.

When replacing the water only use soft water so the fish do not die of shock. Soft water is water without minerals. Tap water or filtered water is considered soft water. After the water has been replaced remember to not fill the tank too high because, the plants, decor and filters have to still be added.

Replace the under gravel filter if you have one. Also consider in investing a power filter, this will make your life a lot easier. Then replace the plants and decor. You’re all done, and now your tank is clean. Remember that cleaning a tank can be traumatizing for the fish, so they might be timid for a while after the clean.

You should train your dog to eat anywhere. You should train him to eat indoors, outdoors and in any room. Doing this will help you in future when you take the dog with you anywhere.

An important part of dog training is to train him to use the crate. Then you can carry the crate anywhere. The puppy should be trained to sit in the crate. As far as potty training is concerned, you should buy a flexi leash and train the dog to go potty there.

You should train your dog to be quiet in the car. He should stay quiet when you ask him to. You can encourage him to follow your order by rewarding him every time he agrees to what you say. So he can become obedient and accept all your orders.

You should never beat or kick your puppy. This will have a bad effect on him and he will not accept your orders. You can warn the dog by saying “No”. Also teach him to use the toilet every time and clean the spot where he urinates sometimes.

Some dogs love chewing the furniture. The reason can be that he just likes chewing things. You can stop him from doing so. You can buy some good chewing toys that will catch the interest of your puppy and not make him feel bored.

Foul tasting but non toxic substances are available at various store. These can be painted onto objects so that the dog does not chew them. It is also possible to use the Aversion therapy with much success.

It can be hard to train dogs. A hard to train dog is not always stupid. There can be other reasons for that. In many cases, he may be very intelligent and better at doing things that others can not do. He can not be easily trained due to many reasons.

Some dogs have a lot of intelligence and dominance. These characteristics make your training efforts harder. They are born fighters so they use their skills all the time. They can sometimes guess our mood and know what we are up to.

Some dogs have a high level of dominance. Once they have their attention onto something, they do not give up easily on that. So you should not stop them from doing something. They will stop when they feel like.

If the dog starts chewing something or digging up something buried underground, it may be difficult to divert his attention. This shows that the dog has a lot of determination to achieve what he wants to.

Sometimes your dog begins to chase things while you training him. He may have found something interesting. So you find it hard to convince him to continue the exercises and can do it only after his is done chasing that thing.

The dog training sessions have to be interesting. You can get him to find hidden toys or do innovative exercises that stimulate his brain. You can do things that your dog likes the most as he responds better to interesting things.

Consider becoming a member at a local kennel club. You will be able to go to various dog shows and even find more information about dog training. Pet owners often have a lot to gain from such club memberships.

Thus you can successfully train your dog to do the right things. But make sure you never use force on him for any reason.

What is dog’s Cushing’s disease? Dogs Cushing’s disease is a common problem that affects elder pets, and is caused by overactive adrenal glands. This condition can easily be confused with premature signs of aging in dogs. Cushing’s disease symptoms include:

* weight gain * hair loss * urinating in the house * increased consumption of water * increased urination * increase in appetite

Thankfully, this disease is treatable and once treated your dog can live a much longer and healthier life. This condition can be treated at home using homeopathic remedies.

In dogs, Cushing’s disease can look like the debilitating effects of aging, so some pet owners may mistakenly consider euthanasia in order to let their pets go peacefully. It is very important to understand when your dog is truly just aging or if they are suffering from Cushing’s disease. Your vet can help you determine what your pet is facing.

In dogs, Cushing’s disease is usually found in pets that are around ten years old. Cushing’s disease is more likely to strike in miniature dogs and in spayed/neutered dogs. Since it can strike just about any dog and there are very few known predispositions for the disease it is sometimes hard to diagnose. Even the physical signs of the disease can be similar to a variety of other health problems.

Because the symptoms are so much like aging it is important to note the symptoms that are more than common signs of aging. These can be extreme drinking(water) as 80-85% of Cushing’s dogs will drink 2-10 times their normal amount. Another possible sign is a change in the color of your dog’s coat, 85-100% of Cushing’s dogs have a change in the skin or coat. 90-95% of dogs will also take on a pot-bellied appearance. By recognizing these signs you can treat the disease and make your dog live longer and more comfortably. Once you suspect the problem, a simple blood test could prove that your dog is suffering from Cushing’s.

If Cushing’s disease is left to progress without treatment it can lead to even more serious problems such as diabetes, congestive heart failure, failure of the liver and kidneys, and other problems like infections in numerous places on the body. These problems combined with Cushing’s disease can prove fatal to your pet. So if you pet is exhibiting any of the symptoms for dog’s Cushing’s disease and they are over 6 years of age, it is best to take them to a vet right away for a diagnosis.

Hummingbird feeders have evolved as a product in the past few decades. There are many companies that are developing new kind of hummingbird feeders to make it more attractive and easy to use. There are many new innovations that make it easy for the hummingbird to come and rest near the feeder and consume the nectar and sugar syrup. There are many kind of modern materials used in the manufacture of the hummingbird feeders. The ceramic and glass feeders still remain, but new types of feeders such as plastic ones are available in the market now. These feeders are more users friendly and can easily be dismantled and put back together. New feeders are less friendly to the birds because they need to first learn how to feed themselves from it. But the hummingbirds learn fast so you should not have any problem.

The place where the feeder is placed is as important as the type of feeder used. The place decides how many birds you get near the feeder. The feeder has to be kept at a very natural and open place so that the birds approach it without any fear. The feeder has to be kept at a comfortable place so that they do not go away searching for easier feeder locations.

There are several different kinds of feeders available these days. The one kind of feeder that is still in use is the basin type of feeder. The basin type of feeder has been here for a long time. The basin type became popular because it is easy to clean and maintain. The other types are a bit difficult to maintain and look after. The materials used to make these feeders are also changing rapidly. Many new kinds of materials like plastic and fiber is used to manufacture these kinds of feeders.

There are different kinds of hummingbird feeders that are manufactured every year. The humming bird feeders are becoming more complex and efficient year after year. There are many feeders that also provide resting place and other amenities to the hummingbirds. There are many feeders that come in several different colors and even add a bit of art to it. This makes it ideal to keep in a garden or a back yard. The number of people who own a hummingbird feeder have increased over time in the United States. This has also increased the innovation in the industry.

The last thing you ever want to get is bad or outdated information about Hummingbirds. You’ll never have to worry about that again after you visit this site Bird Feeders.

Today, most of the people are trying to look for ways to improve their bodies and more environmentally friendly all at the same time. One option, which is available to anyone having outdoor space, is to build a chicken coop. It’s quite easy to make it if you possess easy to follow chicken coop building plans. You can taylor these chicken coop building plans according to your needs, for the number of chickens you wish to own. After the setting up of your chicken coop, you can have the peace of mind that your eggs will always be organic, as will your chickens.

When you go to the grocery store, you buy meat, eggs, produce, and it is very easy to assume that what you are eating is healthy. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. You never know what pesticides are now sitting on your kitchen counter, or what hormone additives are now sitting in your refrigerator. More and more people are becoming aware of this fact, but few know how they can fight back for their family’s health.

Working class people have the option of building their own chicken coop to get get their own eggs. This is a good alternative aside from moving out into the country and living off the land.

Building your own chicken coop is relatively easy, and much cheaper than buying a premade coop. As mentioned before, having an easy to follow chicken coop building plan is the main thing you need first of all. Material required for making a chicken coop are wood, chicken wire, tin, and the tools for assembly, such as a saw and a drill. Once you have gathered all of the materials, you can build your chicken coop in only a few hours.

Once this is done, you can rest assured that your chickens are contained and likely producing more eggs than you need. You can give these extra eggs to friends or sell them becuase organic eggs are highly sought after these days. The coop will pay for itself should you sell them.

One good thing about your own chicken coop os that you will have a steady supply of fertilizer for your garden. Chicken droppings are easily contained and gathered from the coop and if you find that you have more than you need you can sell the excess. The benefits to your garden and ultimately your own health will make having the coop worthwhile.

You can save a lot of money on chicken coops by building your own. If you use easy chicken coop building plans, you can enjoy your own quality eggs. A homemade chicken coop is just as good as a premade coop.

by Rod Jones

We all know that it is not unusual for pet owners to permit their pets to sleep with them at night. In fact, one third of pet owners have at some time, allowed their pets to sleep on their beds. Dogs provide a companionship that can’t be shown by any other kind of animal. However, this doesn’t mean to say that some people do not let their cats or another pets sleep with them too.

It is made easier too because dogs have a sleep pattern that is very similar to ours. Dogs often rely on their masters with complete trust, which makes them a bit more relaxed during the night. This explains why most dogs fall to sleep easily and later on, enter into deep sleeps where REM sleep activities can occur. In fact, once dogs enter this stage, the owner needs to call them several times before they can truly be woken up.

For sure, many of us have already seen a dog ‘running’ during sleep or at times, barking with his eyes closed. These dogs are believed to be dreaming. Breathing patterns can also be observed among dogs. For instance, there are breeds which breathe more heavily while there are those who breathe very lightly. The heavy breathers are much more prone to snoring than those who do not breathe as heavily.

Some people find that dogs that snore are quite a nuisance during the night, depending on the degree and frequency of the phenomenon. Like with humans, there are various considerations why dogs snore, although most deal with the blocking of the passage of air in the throat, which in turn is caused by the collapse of certain areas along the throat. It is the same problem as with human beings.

A dog that snores very loudly ought to be examined for different issues to see which treatment could be best applied. Some dogs are especially susceptible to some allergies that can cause constriction in the airway. It may also be that there is some excess tissue in the areas that are inhibiting proper breathing. It is best for a veterinarian to check out various factors through careful evaluation of the dog’s anatomical features and physical symptoms in general.

Is you dog overweight? I ask this because, like with humans, obese dogs are more likely to snore than thin ones. This is because they will have more flesh surrounding their windpipes. Therefore, they have excess tissue hanging around their throats, which can cause obstructions. Once this problem has been fixed, the chances of snoring will be decreased. This would not only be healthy for your dogs, but you may eventually enjoy a decent night’s sleep too.

Snoring also has something to do with the general facial features. Some dogs seem to have pushed-in faces which narrows their air passages to a certain degree. The construction of their nasal passages also largely contributes to their difficulty of breathing. They are pretty much like humans with a cold, who are forced to breathe using only twenty-five percent of their nostril capacity. Dog breeds with shorter faces need to expend lots of effort to breathe properly. It takes them more work to control breathing and they are also more prone to snoring.

Minor surgery can give your dog great relief. Be sure though that, before any decision is made, you are well educated about the potential risks and consequences of surgery to stop a dog snoring. Most procedures are irreversible, so careful thought must be given to any operation you permit. In fact, it is best to accept the guidelines provided by your veterinary surgeon.

I live in a town which is quite happening. I am an animal lover. And if you ever get chance to drop in to my house, you would find a huge animal farm. The moment you enter my house you would find Colored sparrows and a white parrot awaiting you. And apart from this, I have a tiger who is now five years old now. He has been a great friend of mine.

The Dalmatians, my patchy white noise generator adorn my back yard lawn .The torture and the piggys are too attention seeks. As, they all can be seen in mud pool jostling for their turns. Rest you would find swans in the front pool of my house. The lovely brigade of the golden fish cannot be unseen as I have the biggest and largest fish tank in my house.

I want to be more productive since my cheese and the milk is being exported to another areas as well. In order to do the same , I have expansion plans for my cattle and poultry farm. The thatched roof along with proper cooling system is the prime concern for the poultry as well as the cattle farm.

I have called upon the best roofers of the town. The roofs designs and the layout are being done by me . The roof layouts are being done by roofers as well. My roofers are also very apt.

The estimated budget of my work is far high then my pocket and I have applied for loan and it will be cleared in no time as my friend is there in the loan section of the nearby bank.

The next step involves the venting and ducting of the system and it will be the most consuming time in order to complete the system.

The iron panels need to be installed in order to fix up the vents and ducts of the cooling system. This might take little time in order to fix up the things.

However, the roofing of the cattle farm will take time as it needs further structuring in order to install milk extracting machines . I have given the order for the milk extracting machines so as to complete the new cattle farm. The roofers which have been called upon by me are extremely apt and helpful and might take some time.

by Kor Rassad

If you’ve taken an interest in chicken-raising, either as a hobby or a way to acquire eggs and chicken meat without having to buy them from the grocery store, how to house your new birds will be one of the first things you want to tackle. The standard for housing poultry is to build them a comfortable chicken coop to live in. Of course, how you construct it will vary depending on your specific scenario, how many chickens you plan on keeping, what kind of area you live in, and so forth.

Regardless, though, there are some aspects of chicken coop designs that are identical no matter the circumstances.

* Make sure your birds have enough living space. Inside the coop, you’ll want to give them at least 4 square feet each in total area. This means if you have 5 chickens, you need to have at least 20 square feet for them to live comfortably in the coop.

* Make sure you leave room in the plan to attach a chicken run outside the coop itself. Chickens need 10 square feet each to walk around in, otherwise they will feel cramped.

Other than these space concerns, much of what you look for in your chicken coop designs is up to you. You can design the exterior of the coop to look like anything you want, from a victorian house or a greek temple to a functional and minimalist wooden box. One thing you should make sure to keep in mind, though, is that your coop will need to be big enough for you to get inside for cleaning purposes. If you can’t get into it, your job of keeping your chickens healthy and happy will be that much more difficult.

A few other things you want to include, regardless of your chicken coop designs are adequate ventilation and predator protection. There are many animals which prey on poultry, from foxes and hawks to wolves, wild dogs, and even wild cats. With all this to worry about, your birds will feel much safer”and thus, will be much more productive and healthy”if you ensure that their home is solid and hard for wild animals to get into. Use solid wooden walls instead of a wire frame mesh. Of course, you shouldn’t use wood to frame your chicken run; for that job, wire frame mesh is just fine.

Ventilation is important because chickens do not like extremes in temperature regardless of whether it’s too hot or too cold. They prefer cool weather, but if it’s too cold they will get just as unhappy as if it’s too hot. Make sure you include some windows when planning out your chicken coop designs to account for this preference of your birds. A window towards the top is a good idea, because the hot, stale air will go out of it naturally, and you won’t have to worry about installing some kind of mechanical system to circulate air.

Other ideas include adding nesting boxes for your hens to lay eggs in, roosts for them to sleep on, and easy-to-clean bedding boxes for the chicken droppings to fall into. Roosts are especially important, because chickens do not like sleeping on the ground. Regardless of how you make your chicken coop designs, just make sure your chickens have enough room and stay comfortable. They’ll thank you for it.
