You can easily make this an easy exercise with a little imagination and perseverance. Here are ways you can introduce a single bed into a toddler’s bedroom.

When your baby has become too big for his or her cot, you want to make sure that they are still safe, but in a bed of their own. The first thing you want to do when putting a single bed into your child’s room is to make sure it is against a wall with only one side open. This should then be covered with a guard when the child is sleeping.

Okay, so the transition from cot to bed might be a bit weird and a bit much for one small little toddler to take in. It is natural, he or she is going from a tiny cot to a big bed, and this may make them feel insecure. Remedy this with tons of pillows and a whole lot of stuffed animals. Sleeping among them will make your young one feel better.

When you use the bed for the first time and for a few weeks or even months afterwards, always use the same pillows, blankets and bedding that were in the cot until your child gets used to the bed. You can also start off by using the cot mattress for your child to sleep on. You can put this on top of the bed and this will help them to get used to it with something familiar.

Once your child is used to sleeping in this new bed, you can get let them sleep under the single bed duvet or comforter. You can get a brand new one as a present with fun picture and images that they love. They will really enjoy sleeping in this new bed.
