My First Home And Vertical Blinds

December 9th, 2009 Jesita Jerik No comments

My first home I installed vertical blinds. When I first saw the house there were curtains in the bedroom and drapes in the living room. It looked small and dark. I took down the drapes, curtains, and curtain rods. Of course the house looked bigger and brighter now, the sun was shinning through all the uncovered glass.

After patching up the curtain rod bracket holes I started painting. The masking was the time consuming part. I think I spent three times preparing to paint than I did actually painting.

These days most professionals use a paint gun and compressor but I painted the old fashioned way with brush and roller. For the first house interior that I had completely painted I had to say it looked good. Now was the time to measure for the vertical blinds. I had eleven windows to cover. Not many.

The house only had eleven windows to cover. I measured the windows myself for the vertical blinds to save money. There was an extra charge for the company to send someone out to measure. Overall the price was very reasonable. I went with the thickest type of vertical blind because I wanted them to last. It was a little more expensive but I figured the heavier grade of vertical blind the better.

I would pay to have someone measure though if I were you. I did measure correctly and the vertical blinds did fit. But if I had made a mistake I would have to pay to have the window blinds redone. If they measured and made a mistake they would replace them at no charge.

However, there was no problem with my measuring. The vertical blinds were delivered and I got to work. Now I am one of those guys challenged by the most simple of building tasks. But I was kind of proud when I had put up the last of the vertical blinds.

Other than one room I had to improvise the installation went smoothly enough. The dining room windows came together at a corner. So I had to cut the vertical blind awning to fit like an L. Other than that, I found that I had measured right and all the vertical window blinds and awnings were correctly produced.

By the end I was very happy I had chosen vertical blinds rather than keep the drapes and curtains. The vertical blinds, I chose a shade of white, made the rooms look bright and alive. It was a real modern look. And the vertical blinds had a sturdy feel because they were sturdy. So when I drew the cords to open them and close them or to turn them in or out I knew they were going to last for many years that my window blinds did. My vertical blinds were still hanging when I sold my house’ years later.

How to Secure your Home with Wireless Home Security Cameras

December 9th, 2009 Milos Pesic No comments

Providing security cameras is a great way to improve a home security system, although sometimes it may be hard to install them. Wireless home security camera systems are convenient, as they don’t have to be hardwired into a system. They may be plugged into a standard outlet. In addition, a wireless home security camera can be used for recording the video feed and other types enabling you to view the video live over the Internet from any place in the world.

Look at the three basic wireless home security camera types and check also what their features are:

The first among these three types is the outdoor home wireless camera, which is used in a typical home security setting replacing the standard hardwired camera. This type of camera needs the electrical power which can be supplied by a standard electrical outlet. Some of them can be battery powered but the problem is that the batteries run out quickly. However, there are also solar powered cameras, but in case it rains heavily for days, they can lose their power. Yet, if you want to avoid trouble of hardwiring your cameras they might be a good choice for you.

Furthermore, a relatively new addition to the system for securing your home is the IP home wireless security camera. This camera is connected to your home wireless Internet, or it sends its signal back to a base. It is equipped with similar features to web cameras, except for being connected to a computer. By providing this camera, you have a chance to see everything the camera sees any time you are connected to the Internet and then record it via your computer or digital video recorder.

The third type of a home wireless security camera is a nanny cam. It is a wireless surveillance camera system masked as a simple home object. These can be, for example clocks, DVD players, and children’s toys. They can function just like the real object with the addition of surveillance system. Mainly, people use these to monitor caretakers (like nannies) or employees in their homes. These digital wireless security camera systems can be recorded to DVR or combined with a wireless IP camera enabling you to view the live video anywhere using the Internet at work.

It’s not really a good choice to purchase a cheap home wireless security camera system. It is necessary that the camera has the video transmitting hardware built in, included in the price. The lower end systems can be about the price of a high end hardwired camera, but what they benefit in are the convenience and ability to place them where a wired camera would be hard for the installation. What’s more, the possibility to view a live video feed remotely over the internet makes some people be more interested in the home wireless security camera system. To add a fake security cameras to your system is more difficult since it is many times done in a wired camera installation. However, because of the fact that they are easy to be hidden in the house they are completely unnecessary device of the home security system. The research on all types of security camera systems has been carried out by David Verde, who is willing to share some pieces of information. Keep in mind that home security does not involve just surveillance, more than that it includes many other components, cameras being just a part.
