Many people think that they can solve their room’s space problem buy replacing their regular beds with bunk beds that will give people more legroom and a cleaner environment. Well, we have to agree to that since bunk beds are made to actually provide us sleeping cradles that can take advantage of the upper portion of the room without compromising the lower space.

However, choosing bunk beds that are fully adaptable to the bedroom’s scenery to create a pleasant impression can sometimes be demanding since the bedroom is also a part of the house that needs proper arrangement and coordination.

The first aspect to think about when selecting the proper color of bunk beds is the color of the walls. In order to match bunk beds to the walls, it will require either a new interior paint job for the walls, or repainting the bunk beds so they match the room’s decor. For this reason, a majority of bunk beds are white, since these bunk beds will match any bedroom decor or color scheme.

However, there are many who prefer getting a colored bed due to their supposed vulnerability to kid’s raucous activities. Children are the worst adversaries of anything white in our homes. Bedsheets, walls, electronics, and especially furniture are all fair game to kids when they are playing. Everything is a toy to them.

Since bunk beds are the favorite playgrounds of kids inside their room, a bunk bed with a good white polish is likely to be the victim in this play. But this must not be the case especially now that everything we make is learned from experience and so we produce products that can withstand strain and deterioration. Most white bunk beds these days resist color fading, and are coated with a specific substance that guards against spills.

The main difference among white bunk beds now is the grade of materials used to manufacture them. You can easily find a number of low quality white bunk beds which are made cheaply available in today’s market, that of course is only because they’re made with cheap materials and low quality paints. These bunk beds will not stand up to this level of mistreatment, and their sturdiness will constantly be in question.

White bunk beds are a favorite among consumers since they match just about any bedroom decor and can be found in a variety of fashions and designs.

Their best feature is that they have a more refined look, this is mostly true when they’re surrounded with materials which promote their composure like light colored walls, lights, high quality bedding’s, mattresses, and white satin curtains.

Gone are the days when white bunk beds are susceptible to and marred easily by liquid spill stains, crayons, ink and paints from kids. The good thing about today’s white paint for wood is that it is now made up of high graded synthetic materials that can put extra shine to the wood and prevent stains to be absorbed easily by the wood.

This is because the innovated white paint is specially made to effectively seals off the grains of the wood and prevents moisture seepage thus maintaining the beauty and shine of the bunk bed.

There is one truth that not so many homeowners have found out about yet. It’s that you can furnish your living room beautifully with the use of cheap furniture. Some people shy away with the mere mention of the word ‘cheap’, but what they should understand is that cheap can also be grand. It all depends on the decorating taste of the homeowner.

Let’s talk more about the living room. It’s usually the first part of the house that visitors come into whenever they visit. And for this, hosts would normally want to have a living room that is inviting, beautiful and comfortable. It’s usually to serve as our bragging rights knowing that our visitors think we have a lovely living room. There’s no sin in bragging. It’s just clean and healthy fun. A human satisfaction based on beauty.

So how can we create a living room worthy of discerning eyes that will not burn a big hole in our wallet? Going cheap, would be the right way. Cheap is the popular word nowadays especially whenever the economy is fluctuating. Suddenly the idea of ‘why spend more when you can have more with less’ becomes all so true.

You can furnish your living room cheaply by using cheap materials. For one thing, instead of an elegant sofa, why not use a futon instead? Futon mattresses are very cheap compared to sofa cushions or mattresses. Futons are extremely flexible and can be used as a mattress replacement for beds and sofas. For the living room, you can simply buy a futon that comes with a sofa frame. The frame is usually made of wood, which is again, quite cheap. A futon in the living room is both elegant and practical, a perfect combination that you can’t usually find in other furnishings.

Another way that you can go cheap when decorating your living room is by buying second hand furniture sets. You can find beautiful and in perfect condition second hand sofa sets, chairs, tables, and other living room furniture at very affordable prices. The choices are actually varied that you can shop at your leisure while finding the perfect sets that will match your ideas on what your living room should look and feel like.

Where can you find second hand living room furniture? You can go to flea markets. I’m quite sure that there are flea markets happening almost every week in your area or at least some place that is just within a short drive. You can also try searching online as there are online retailers that specialize in second hand furniture. You can also try your luck in online auctions where you can buy a great set on much lower price. That is if you are lucky enough during the bidding.

There are still many ways in creating the perfect living room of your dreams. While you can find furniture that are cheap but still highly elegant and in wonderful condition, there are various means you can use to meet your desires. The beauty of the living room relies solely on the creativity and ingenuity of the person designing it. And with a creative mind, the limit is actually and truthfully endless.

If you are thinking about a futon in the living room, a few extra cover sets are in order. One huge benefit of owning a futon is that you can have a blue futon cover one week and switch things up the next week with a brown futon cover.

Your home is a place that you would really like to have in your own way. The way you create it your own way is by decoration. The most important part of your decoration is the furniture. People realize this and has therefore become more selective in their furniture.

The furniture industry has to take the consequences of this and make a lot of different things that fits just about every taste. This involves using many different materials in the production. The most common materials are wood, plastic and metal. Of course customers just love that they have a lot more to choose from.

There is one material however that will never die because of the furniture revolution, and that is wood. It is still today the most used and will probably be for as long as there is wood to be used. Wood has that good old charm and elegance that no other material can compete with. Of all the types of wood available, oak is the king.

The use of oak for furniture is not limited to anything. It can be used for just about whatever you want to. In any case it gives a home that classic and warm look.

Few people think of getting oak furniture for their bathroom. It has become very popular in recent years however. Now you can get just about whatever you want for your bathroom in oak, including cabinets and even toilet seats.

The room that has made the best use of oak is the living room. Usually, the living room is the room that most people puts most effort into choosing furniture for. For this room there is virtually no limitation to what kind of furniture you can get that is made from oak.

There are two problems with choosing oak though. The first one is that it is usually a bit more pricy than other materials, like plastic. The second is that oak furniture is pretty heavy.

Ignoring these problems, oak is something that everyone should consider when they are on the lookout for new furniture.

by Sue Krippner

A project redesign can really spruce up the look of your home. You will not need to spend a lot of money to achieve this new look as sometimes just changing things around or updating your furnishings will work just fine.

Arm yourself with three boxes when you are ready for a project redesign. You will need to remove clutter first and foremost before doing anything else. In the first of the three boxes place things that you want to keep, items to throw out or give to charity go in the second box and the third box is for anything that you are not sure of.

Each one of your rooms could benefit from a project redesign, for example you might want to add plants, bring in new accessories, incorporate. artwork, give the walls a fresh coat of paint or take on something a little bit more challenging, such as replacing the flooring.

How much of a project redesign you do in each room should be based on your budget. You might want to choose a few rooms where only some minor redecorating work is needed and save the majority of your budget for rooms that need a major revamp.

Professional design advice is invaluable when planning interior design project. There are a number of interior design websites with galleries of photographs that can help get you started. Sometimes you will find forums where you can get answers to your questions from professional designers at no cost.

When many people hear interior design, they automatically think expensive. But you can inexpensively create a professional design look through simple, yet significant changes in a room. Among the things that can create major change are repainting the walls, changing the style through accessories and furnishings, and selecting a different focal point. Use design tricks, like using slipcovers to give a fairly new sofa a new look, rather than buying new.

Technology can be your friend when it comes to a major project redesign. For example, three-dimensional home design software allows you to choose what you plan to do and see the finished look as if it were real time. You can decide on your interior decorating scheme, choose a room style or even design an outdoor project. Redesign your area before spending money on furniture, paint or other big-ticket items.

When it comes to redesigning your home, try and be eco-friendly. This is a great way to help the environment and conserve energy at the same time. Consider replacing standard bulbs with energy efficient luminescent ones, look for the Energy Star seal of approval when buying appliances and replace traditional hardwoods with corkboard or bamboo flooring. Don’t forget to recycle, reuse and restore.

by Cheryl Peppers

Whether you are moving into a new home, or just giving your current living room an uplift, it’s important to give some serious thought to the way you want the room to look and feel. The way you choose to design and decorate a room can have a dramatic impact on the way the room feels and how it is used.

If you are giving the room a complete makeover and going for a whole new look you will want to decide what style you want for that room. Of course you’ll want to make sure it blends with the furnishings and feel of the rest of the house. But maybe you want to move to a slightly more modern look, or more of a traditional look, or something else.

If you are in a position where you can get new furniture you won’t have a hard time finding just the right look with the wide selection available these days. But if you happen to live in a less populated area with less choice easily available you might consider shopping online. Many quality companies can ship a sample of the wood or material so you can get a better idea of how it looks in person.

If you’re on a budget you might consider a few other options. You can refinish some of your existing furniture to give it a new look. If the idea of doing this yourself is intimidating look for someone in your area that does professionally or even as a hobby. You may also be able to talk to them for additional design ideas. But if you feel inspired to do the work yourself you might want to look at some do it yourself books or blogs as a reference.

Another good option if you’re on a budget is to find second hand furniture, or look for close out deals or store closing sales. If you’re willing to spend the time you can find some great deals on gently used furniture at garage sales, in classified ads, online or local postings. It may take a little more patience but you might be surprised at what you can find.

Evaluate both the dimensions and shape of the room you’re furnishing before you start looking for pieces of furniture. This will help you know what will and won’t work. For example a small room with large furniture will feel crowded and likely won’t be as useable.

You want to make the room feel like it’s laid out well and has a good flow. To accomplish this it’s good to evaluate what sizes and pieces of furniture will help achieve this while making the room usable. Think about the way the furniture will fit in the room while considering any obstacles like doors, windows and spaces that lead into another room.

One way to make sure all the pieces you want will fit in the room is to carefully measure the areas and put something like paper or newspaper in those areas so you can feel how things will fit and know what size of furniture to look for. For instance in a living room you may want to measure an area for a couch, end tables, a coffee table and a love seat to see what will fit and how it will feel.

Now you’re ready to start shopping. This is the fun part whether you’re looking at new or second hand; it’s still new and fresh to you.
