Above Ground Pools or Above Ground Swimming Pools For Summer Fun

October 22nd, 2009 John Maddox No comments

When summer arrives and the heat is on, a great way to relax and stay cool is with above ground pools.

Above ground pools are a much less expensive option than are in ground pools. There is no hole to dig and the materials that are used to make the pool are much less expensive. There are many types of above ground pools available today.

No matter which type of above ground pool you choose, you will need a level spot for installation. Any stones or debris should be removed from the spot before installation. A layer of sand will help to keep the pool level and flat on the bottom. If you are installing a metal wall above ground pool, you will need extra sand to build a cove around the inside of the lower pool wall. This keeps the liner from sliding under the metal wall and becoming damaged.

The easiest pool to setup has an inflatable ring around the top of the pool. Once it is inflated, water is added into the pool until it is filled. The ring keeps the pool standing up. These pools are only available in limited sizes.

The metal sided above ground pool is the oldest of above ground pools. These pools can last for many seasons if treated properly. A plastic liner inside the metal walls keeps the water inside the pool. These pools are available in either round or oval shapes and can be very large.

In recent years a pool has been developed that uses the heavier liner of the inflatable ring pool with PVC pipe for a support. This pool does away with the time of installation of a metal pool but has a much stronger wall support than the inflatable ring pool. These pools are also available in very large sizes.

Above ground pools need a filtering system to keep the water clear. Many pool owners find that a sand filter system is much more effective and economical than the paper filter systems that come with many less expensive pools.

For many years, chlorine was the chemical associated with swimming pools. Chlorine is a very volatile chemical and required constant replacement. Newer systems use table salt to keep the pool free of algae and germs. Table salt, sodium chloride, is a very stable chemical and pools require much less than they did with chlorine. Salt filters are an inexpensive addition to help you enjoy your above ground pool even more.

A variety of above ground pools, above ground swimming pools and plenty of pool liners to choose from.

Thoughts On Getting Swimming Pool

There are always numerous excellent reasons to acquire a swimming pool in the garden. Here is a minor collection of them:

A swimming pool might be a get-together place for relatives and friends and raise the quality of life. A properly maintained and well placed pool can enhance the value of your house. The family’s exercise habits might be improved, since a pool will present new work out possibilities and often a more active leisure time. Children have the chance to fast become familiar with water. The family’s teenager (s) can unwind with their friends in the family backyard.

There are without doubt a lot more good arguments, that for each individual might be crucial for the final decision. Ahead of purchasing the pool, it is a good plan to contemplate:

Who will use the pool and how will it be used? How many people will use the pool – at the same time? In what way is your family wants and everyday life to change? Must there be various water depths? Is there a need for a separate area for children – and have you thought of comforting seating opportunities for adults? With massage options? Fitness options? would you like to be able to dive in? Stair or ladder? Where will the pool be located in the garden? And last, but not least in these energy conscious times ” should the water be warmed up in order to optimize the use – and if so in what way ” solar?

When all these requirements and needs are determined, it is also vital to settle on what economic frame the acquisition of the pool will have to stay inside.

Then you can continue to select a design for the pool ” what should it look like? If a lot of the aforementioned wishes and needs must be fulfilled with the selection of the pool, then there is clearly not fully independence of choice for pool design, as the size, shape, depth, etc.. will have to respect those wishes and needs.

There are lots of different models of pools, but the most common categories are:

Fiberglass-pool: This model is accessible in a broad range of sizes, shapes, colors and depths. Generally speaking they do not need high maintenance and they can be set up in a short time.

Concrete pool: Here there are also several, if not more, design options to choose from than the fiberglass-pools. This model can be customized to your wants and desires in nearly every way, with a pool built for your specific wants, and be placed where you want. There are several options here and you can be more demanding in the specific modifications to the pool.

Steel-pool: Steel-pools are often used for round, oval and 8-representation solutions, as they are very fitting for these designs. Steel pools are lined with a vinyl liner, which is sewn to the special designed pool size and shape. Vinyl-line’s sturdiness is more than 15 years and can without much problems be revamped when the time comes for it. Steel construction can hold up to 25 years. This pool category is becoming more and more well-liked because they normally are more economical than concrete pools and straightforward to maintain.

An automatic pool cleaner such as the Dolphin pool cleaner is the only way to effectively clean your pool that supports both preventive and active pool cleaning. Robot pool cleaners increase your quality of life by taking away the endless task of manually cleaning your pool.
